Barbara, a kind-hearted and empathetic young woman, met Patrick at a local coffee shop. He was tall, handsome, and charismatic. They struck up a conversation and soon began dating. At first, Patrick seemed like the perfect partner; he showered her with compliments and attention, making her feel special.

One day, while having a picnic in the park, Patrick looked deeply into Barbara's eyes and said, "Barbara, you're the most incredible woman I've ever met. I can't imagine my life without you." 

Barbara blushed and replied, "Patrick, I feel the same way about you."

As the months passed, Patrick's true nature began to surface. He became controlling and possessive, dictating what Barbara wore, who she could see, and even what she could eat. He was also verbally abusive, often belittling her and making her feel worthless.

One evening, as Barbara got ready for a dinner party, Patrick said, "You're not seriously thinking of wearing that dress, are you? It makes you look fat. Put on something else." 

Tears filled Barbara's eyes, but she complied without a word.
